About

The Tour Divide is the ultimate test of endurance in ultra cycling. Stretching approximately 4,418 km (2,745 miles) from Banff, Alberta, Canada to Antelope Wells, New Mexico, USA, this self-supported race follows the rugged Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. Riders navigate through remote wilderness, crossing high mountain passes, deserts, forests, and plains, with a total elevation gain of around 53,206 meters.

This race is not just about physical endurance; it’s a mental and logistical challenge. Participants must be self-reliant, carrying all their gear and supplies, with no outside support allowed other than public facilities such as stores, motels, and bike shops. The route is primarily off-road, consisting of dirt roads, gravel paths, and rough trails, demanding technical skill and resilience. The Tour Divide is more than a race; it’s a journey that pushes the limits of what is possible on a bike.
