About

The Headstock 500 is a challenging 500km (ish) route that will take you through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the UK. With over 9,000m of ascent, you’ll conquer the Black Mountains, Cambrian Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park.

The route is strategically planned around the main resupply points of Abergavenny, Talgarth, Knighton, Rhayader and Llandovery. These points not only offer opportunities for riders to restock their supplies but also provide travel options in case participants need to withdraw early. Additionally, accommodation options such as camping, hotels, and B&Bs are available at these points, ensuring comfort and safety in case the weather turns sour. As we all know, Wales can be unpredictable, and while it is one of the most beautiful parts of the UK (especially when the sun is shining), conditions can change quickly.
