Event description

The Ardennes Monster Wild Boar is the entry-level distance of the Belgian ultra series — 300 kilometres with 5,300 metres of climbing through the Ardennes forests from a Namur start. The Wild Boar is designed to be completable in a single very long day or a relaxed overnight for well-prepared riders, making it an accessible gateway to the self-supported ultra format. The Ardennes landscape delivers the same characteristic rolling difficulty as the longer distances: no single climb is dramatic, but the cumulative effect of continuous short punchy ascents through forested hills means the Wild Boar is significantly harder than a flat 300-kilometre road ride. The name continues the event's Belgian wildlife naming convention and reflects the character of the Ardennes itself — a forested plateau where wild boar are genuinely common. The July timing brings warm conditions and long days. The event is particularly suited to riders who want to test their ultra-endurance capacity before committing to a longer distance in subsequent years, or experienced cyclists who want a focused weekend challenge without the multi-day commitment of the Origin.
