About
Hi, I’m Gábor
Velo Atlas is a home for ultra cycling, gravel racing, and bikepacking adventures. I created it to make it easier for riders to discover events, and prepare for the challenges ahead.
Beyond the event directory, you'll also find guides, planning tools, gear insights, and stories from the road
About me
I'm the founder of Velo Atlas, a designer by profession, and an endurance cyclist at heart. Originally from Hungary and now based in Portugal, I spend my free time exploring gravel roads, planning bikepacking adventures, and lining up at ultra cycling events. Whether it's a weekend overnighter or a 1,000 km race, I'm always looking for the next adventure on two wheels.
The story
Why I Created Velo Atlas
Like many riders, I found myself jumping between dozens of websites just to research a single event. One page had the route, another had had last year's information
I wanted one place where cyclists could discover events around the world, compare them side by side, and find the information they actually need before signing up. Velo Atlas started as a personal project to solve my own problem, and it has grown into a resource for riders who love pushing their limits on gravel, roads, and trails.
Let's Ride Together
This project is built by a cyclist, for cyclists, and every suggestion helps make it more useful for the community. See you out on the gravel!
