Andean Raid

Andean Raid plunges riders into the extreme landscapes surrounding Cusco, Peru, combining brutal Andean climbs, technical descents, high-altitude passes, and dramatic changes in climate and terrain. With no prizes and no outside support, the challenge is built around endurance, self-sufficiency, and the determination to keep moving.

The 2027 edition takes place from 24–29 June, starting and finishing in Cusco. The main route covers approximately 453 km (282 miles) with 10,021 m of elevation gain, reaching a maximum altitude of 4,568 m. The course is split roughly 50% gravel and 50% road, with riders given 130 hours to complete the journey.

The Andean Raid is defined by its extreme environment. Riders can expect freezing nights in the highlands, intense daytime heat, technical terrain, and the effects of riding at altitude. June marks the beginning of Peru’s dry season, bringing clearer skies and generally more favourable riding conditions.

There is no conventional race support to rely on. The event’s philosophy centres on self-sufficiency, solitude, long distances, relentless climbing, and pushing beyond perceived limits.

From the high Andes to the edge of the Amazon, Andean Raid delivers a uniquely demanding bikepacking experience in one of the world’s most spectacular environments. It is a serious test of endurance and adaptability for riders prepared to take on extreme altitude and terrain.
