About
The Badlands race is one of Europe’s most iconic ultra-distance gravel events, set against the rugged and untamed landscapes of southern Spain. Riders tackle approximately 800 kilometers of mixed terrain, climbing more than 16,000 meters through deserts, mountains, and remote wilderness with virtually no outside support. Known for its extreme conditions — from scorching daytime heat to cold nights — the race demands self-sufficiency, careful strategy, and mental resilience. Participants navigate breathtaking but harsh environments like the Gorafe Desert, the Sierra Nevada foothills, and isolated backcountry tracks, making it as much an adventure of survival as a test of endurance and speed.
