Nordic Chase CPH-OSL Gravel is the most mountainous of the four Nordic Chase events, covering approximately 800 kilometres from Copenhagen to Oslo with 7,200 metres of elevation gain through Denmark and southern Norway. The route leaves Copenhagen on gravel roads through the rolling farmland of Zealand before crossing to the Jutland peninsula and entering Norway via the Kattegat coast. The Norwegian section brings the gradient that defines this edition: forested valleys, lakeside gravel climbs, and highland passes that build toward the final descent into Oslo. The 7,200 metres of climbing is significantly more than the Berlin-Copenhagen edition and places different demands on riders, requiring genuine climbing ability alongside the sustained endurance of a multi-day point-to-point event. The August timing aligns with the best of Scandinavian summer: long days, reasonable temperatures, and the dramatic late-evening light that turns Norwegian fjords and forests gold. The event runs in the late-summer period when Copenhagen has finished its high season and the Norwegian forests are at their greenest.
