Driftless Dagger

Driftless Dagger is a self-supported gravel and bikepacking adventure through the Driftless Area of the Upper Midwest USA, a region untouched by glaciers during the last ice age. Riders encounter steep valleys, rolling ridges, winding backroads, and overgrown trails, covering several hundred kilometers of varied terrain. The challenge lies not only in distance but also in navigating an intricate landscape where services are sparse and terrain is unpredictable. Participants must carry their own gear, handle mechanical issues, and plan resupply in small towns or general stores along the way. The combination of demanding climbs, technical descents, and remote scenery creates an immersive experience, revealing the hidden beauty and agricultural heritage of the region. Driftless Dagger tests endurance, resilience, and navigation, offering a unique perspective on the Upper Midwest’s natural and human landscapes.
