Nordic Chase CPH-OSL Road is an approximately 800-kilometre road event from Copenhagen to Oslo, following the road variant of the Scandinavian axis that the gravel edition also covers. The route leaves Copenhagen and heads north through Denmark before entering Norway, gradually climbing through the Norwegian interior toward Oslo in the southern fjord country. Road conditions in Scandinavia are generally excellent — quiet and well-surfaced, with very low traffic density on the provincial roads the event uses — which makes this a fast and technically accessible route for riders with a road background. The June timing in the peak of Scandinavian summer means very long days; riders heading north experience nights that barely exist, which is disorienting but also allows extended riding windows without the need for much lighting. The route between two of the most cycling-conscious capitals in the world has an appealing simplicity: departure from Copenhagen, arrival in Oslo, self-powered and self-supported.
