Event description

The Golden Horseshoe Race is a sprawling self-supported ultra-distance bikepacking challenge through Ontario, Canada. Covering roughly 1,650 kilometers, riders navigate a mix of gravel roads, forgotten trails, overgrown ATV tracks, and remote forest paths. The loop starts and ends in Toronto, taking cyclists through rolling farmland, deep woods, hidden lakes, and some of Canada’s most iconic wilderness areas, including Algonquin Park and the Ottawa Valley. Participants must manage all logistics independently, including resupply, repairs, and sleep, making the event a serious test of endurance, navigation, and resilience. Beyond the challenge, the race provides a chance to experience Ontario’s varied landscapes and wildlife while pushing physical and mental limits.
